3D NUMBER PLATES
3D Plates are made using Premium BSAU approved acrylic and Oralite reflective. The digits themselves are made of a Piano Black Gel Resin and an extremely strong 3M adhesive.
4D NUMBER PLATES
4D Plates are made using Premium BSAU approved acrylic and Oralite reflective. The digits themselves are made of a Piano Black Acrylic, laser cut in the Charles Wright Font and an extremely strong 3M adhesive.
4D GEL PLATES
4D Gel Plates are made using Premium BSAU approved acrylic and Oralite reflective. First, the 4D digits are applied and then the 3D Gel digits are applied on top.
MOTORBIKE PLATES
Motorbike Plates are made using Premium BSAU approved acrylic and Oralite reflective. Like the rest our plates, these are made using UV resistant and durable materials.
SHORTENED PLATES

Rules for number plates
The number plates on your vehicle must:
- be made from a reflective material
- display black characters on a white background (front plate)
- display black characters on a yellow background (rear plate)
- not have a background pattern
- be marked to show who supplied the number plate
- be marked with a British Standard number – this is ‘BS AU 145e’ for plates fitted after 1 September 2021
The characters must not be removable or reflective. If your number plates were fitted after 1 September 2021, they must also be a single shade of black.
Your number plates can also:
- have 3D (raised) characters
- display certain flags, symbols and identifiers
- display a green flash, if you have a zero-emission vehicle
What exactly is a show plate? As the name suggests, it’s a decorative license plate designed solely for display purposes. These plates are crafted using the same high-quality materials as standard number plates but often feature nonstandard spacing, unique fonts, or additional graphic elements. Because they don’t comply with the regulations set by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), they aren’t legal for use on UK roads.
So, if they don’t meet DVLA requirements, what are show plates used for? Many people use them for non-road vehicles, like classic cars kept in garages or showrooms. They’re also popular among car enthusiasts for modified vehicles that aren’t roadworthy. Show plates are ideal for track days or photo shoots when you’d prefer to keep your registration number private. Just remember, they’re not a replacement for legal number plates and should never be used on public roads.
We do not pre-drill any number plates. This is due to the fixing points differing between vehicles and we can’t be sure where to drill the plates. Don’t worry though, if you don’t wish to drill the number plates, we also supply adhesive pads along with screws and caps absolutely free with every number plate order!

This protects your new number plates from:
1.1. Delamination of the reflective backing.
1.2. Water Damage: Water seeping into plates, causing damage to the acrylic or reflective vinyl.
1.3. 4D and Gel characters are protected in the event they lose adhesion.
1.4. Warping or bending of the plate’s acrylic.
